The Toddler Room Environment

Maxine's Daycare Discovery Program introduces your child to a world of communication, sharing, learning, and exploring. Your child will be encouraged to build on their confidence and self help. The classroom environment will help develop your child’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical skills. The Discovery Program will prepare your child for preschool.

Maxine's Daycare provides toddlers with opportunities to learn and explore. The toddler classroom is organized into learning centers to engage children in learning through play while building independence.

Communication to Increase Language Skills

Vocabulary development through repetition of words and sentences. Group sharing and reading will help strengthen conversation skills.

Physical Activities

Strengthen gross motor skills through jumping, throwing, and running with our routine gross motor program. Outside play includes nature walks and playground play.

Individual Expression

Pretend play and role playing are strongly encouraged. Creativity with painting, gluing, drawing, and cutting stimulates children’s imagination and self-expression in art.

Toddler Room Employees

Our teachers communicate with parents to ensure we are working together on important milestones such as potty training and language development and also to ensure your child’s daily needs are met. We utilize the Teaching Strategies curriculum to guide your child’s natural curiosity into meaningful learning experiences. Teachers utilize authentic assessment tools to document daily observations, develop new learning opportunities, and ensure the progression of development and learning.
